** A collection of articles and other fun stuff from around the web. Mostly dealing with babies, parenting, moms, etc. But not always. **
Mom’s hug revives baby that was pronounced dead (OK, if this isn’t the best argument for immediate skin to skin, I don’t know what is – amazing!!)
Why Do So Few Mothers Want To Work Full-Time? (Um, maybe because working “full-time” often ends up meaning sixty or more hours a week for many professionals… that doesn’t leave much time for family)
Dangers of “Crying it Out” (This is a good summary of all of the reasons that this is such a sad thing to do)
Calm babies are allergy free babies: Infants with lower levels of stress-hormone develop fewer reactions (Fascinating!)
Breastfeeding Mom Accused Of Indecent Exposure (Again. People need to learn the law.)
Thanks for the articles! The one about the twins just brought the tears to my eyes! What a miracle! I asked myself if the doctors normally wouldn’t have taken the supposed dead baby away long before two hours passed! And if they had: What would have happend to the baby, that started to move after 5 minutes on his mom’s breast? Brings shivers to my spine… Another thing that concernes me quite a while: I can’t believe what a big thing breastfeeding is in the US!! In Germany it’s just the other way round, people doom you, if you DON’T breastfeed! Do mothers give powdered milk or do they (at least) pump down and bottlefeed? Also cesarians are not very popular among mothers here, though a lot of women decide for one. I know how women are looked at or treated sometimes because I decided voluntarily for a cesarian and I don’t breastfeed (no explaination for that now). And still I can’t believe that something so normal and natural as breastfeeding has to be regulated by law! It shouldn’t be a topic at all!
Sara thank you for sharing the story if the twins with your readers.
