Mom blogging is kind of a big deal, in case you didn’t know. There are tens of thousands of mom bloggers (at least!) with hundreds of thousands of readers. In fact, mom bloggers control over $2 trillion of America’s purchasing power. That’s a big platform that could be used to do a lot of good.
Which is where Mom Bloggers for Social Good comes in. This new website partners mom bloggers with non-profits from around the world. When those non-profits need to spread a message, they will have hundreds of mom bloggers helping them reach out to readers and social media networks. I’m so proud to be a founding member of this organization.
Now is just the right time for something like this. The end of the year is inevitably a time when we focus on ourselves and our families. The holidays can be overwhelming and we tend to do just enough to get by. (At least, I know I do!) But with the new year we want to focus outward again. We need to get outside ourselves and be part of something bigger. Helping people less fortunate than you always makes you more grateful for your own life, flawed though it may be.
I know a large number of my readers are fellow mom bloggers. So this is my call to you: join the campaign. Become a mom blogger for social good and help spread the word. We can make a difference!
